I know in Louisiana there's no inspection AT ALL.

So I went to CHP and the officer came out listened to my car and signed off on it! Turns out you only have to go see the ref if they specify it on the back of the ticket. Thanks for everyones insight.

If it is a sound level ticket THIS IS NOT TRUE!

OP, you will get a courtesy notice most likely, this will tell you your options!

Take that certificate to the court and the ticket will be waved.

Its a Cali bimmer...and I was on it in 1st when they heard me. It also got louder after I installed a Shrick 284 cam and ported and polished the head. It's not all that loud when it's idling though, just when you open it up. Do they gauge the sound db at idle?

You can cram it full of fiberglass, that should quiet it long enough to pass. I did it to mine so i could stealth home late at night. LOL (it works)

It depends if they marked correctable or not. I've had one in the e30 where I just had it signed off and it was $10- I also got one that was simply a fine in my Titan. Didn't have to correct anything, just had to pay $170+

Thaaaaaats California! I'm currently online paying for my "no front license plate" ticket. Got the ticket on my windshield while it was parked, fine. Put the plate on, got it signed off, was about to pay the $10 (for correcting it/$25 if you dont correct it) and I got a letter in the mail saying the Sherrif was using an old ticket book. Not correctable and it's $43 CSB.

In NY if you get a fix it ticket you have 24hrs to fix w.e is broken show up at the precinct and they drop it right there no fuss.
