well if lease then you get a kia sportage, if you buy then get something euro because it will hold its value better but usually more exspensive off the bat.

Try finding a 2013 Escape that isn't whored to the hilt with options. We just got a Subaru Outback but my wife also liked the CR-V. The Jetta Sportwagon TDI w/DCT was fantastic but abit pricey (and we've had nothing but bad luck with VWs). The Chevy Equinox was roomy but underpowered with the base 4-cyl. The Subie Forester is abit dated (can you believe a 4-spd auto) but fits the price target. Lots of choices out there.

Which means you can check Enterprise car sales for a corporate rental that is up for sale...and get a nice price.

My vote goes with the Escape as well. I had an '06 as a company car and put 140K miles on it with no issues at all. I actually missed it when they took it back and gave me a Camry. I hated that Camry.

Oh I agree, my eyes would have melted before that things looks grew on me. It would almost be okay without the bulging headlights on top.

Shopping with my father is almost adversely productive. He drove us to Bellevue, 30mi or so. Just to drive through the car lot then left, without getting out and looking, how are w supposed to find a car without trying them lol.

He said he didn't want to get dealerized.... I usually tell then to shove off till I walk into the office with the check.

Leftover Escape hybrid. Tiguan seems nice but VW's got some quality issues.

If all you want is height, what about a Caliber? Bloody AWFUL car, but will your gran even know the difference?

My fathers dead set on the forester, even though it has the same HP as my E30 and weighs twice as much. Not to mention the awful four speed.

Oh well, I guess I wanted to much for my grandmother.

My mom got. Pretty loaded outback with the cvt for like 26k. It's her 6th Subaru and this has blown all her past legacies and foresters out of the water. It's pretty much the same dimensions as a forester too which I was confused with....

Get the new BMW X1 that's now being offered.

With the right negotiations and doing European Delivery (you get to drive it around on the Autobahn!!), it can be had starting in the high 20's. PM if you have any questions about Euro Delivery. I'm definitely doing euro delivery again for my next new car!
