    Isuzu Trooper I/II

    Yay or nay?

I personally think they look awesome and sound like resilient off road capable beasts.

The 4 cyl diesels get like 34 highway.

anyone ever own one our drive one? I'm talking late 80s early 90s land rover disco 1 surrogate style one.

I'm interested in getting one since they are so cheap as a fun road trip/off road vehicle.

Had a 1994. Was my brothers first car. We took it for family vacation too the beach and the transmission literally fell out the bottom of the car as soon as we got there. Brought it home on a dolly with the trans in boxes in the back seat. Spent more money fixing it than it cost in the first place. Took a wash and traded it in. YMMV. It was a great looking and driving car until that issue. But it was enough to keep anyone in my family from wanting another isuzu.

Honda pilot didn't come till like 2002. I think your thinking Honda passport, which is certainly capable, since its actually the same chassis as a late Isuzu trooper. just doesn't look as tall and boxy awesomeness.

I guess I should fix this and call it Isuzu Trooper I/II since those are the "good years". I didn't mean the late 1990s one.

I had a 92 3.2 with a stick shift. Awesome vehicle that never broke. Always wanted an old boxy one though. Stay far away from the later 3.5's if you go with a second gen.
