I'm pretty sure that the kappa chassis is derived from the Vauxhall, which is the same as some Opel, which is built off the Lotus Elise.

Yea, miatas have gained a reputation for being "chick" cars. Mazda is trying to distance it's newly redesigned roadster from that old stigma. I love their new roadsters.
