    Anyone still make intake heatsheilds?

So i search around and no one seems to be making heatshields, does anyone know a source that can get a custom one made?

i cannot do it on my own, but im willing to pay to get it in my eta, if youre selling one hit me up as well(although now it seems like a WTB thread)

if pics of the engine bay are needed ill post them since mine looks a little different from the other etas on this forum.

Worst comes to worst ill end up buying a kamotors CAI as that was my original plan before.

I assume you mean an intake heat shield? Just for clarification.

No intake you are going to come up with, with or without a heat shield, is going to out perform the stock airbox (which is a CAI).The only possible benefit is a different engine sound.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

              Not according to a dyno...

Nando's dyno without the highbeam seams to out perform the BMW intake.

Kamotors is a decent box...honestly dont expect any noticeable gains.

If you want a very good and true cai Castro boxes are excellent...though it comes at a price

I'm just after the sound to be quite honest without the lost of power, yes I love air box because of the performance its given me but I want something different

Although correct me if I'm wrong but isn't castros air box is basically a cone filter enclosed in a box?

Yes but that's really where all the design needs to be. Its not a filter issue its making sure your getting cool air and not engine bay air.

I myself run ka since I really don't want to drop that much on an intake but if your looking for a true cold air intake with a heat shield than Castro is your guy. If your looking to just have maybe bit better intake temps and some sound..ka will be fine.

or you could do something like this, the brake coolers are great for getting fresh cool air to the intake.

I used to have a GMC typhoon and half the threads were how to get cool air for the turbo. I was never able to have time to do it on a car that really needed it but of course on this car I was able to.
