What is a mint, low mileage 1989 325iX worth?

    Hey all-

I apologize up front for another what's it worth thread, but I have found a 1 owner 1989 325iX, with 75,000 miles and complete service history. The car is DS black, with a black vinyl interior. It is a 2 door and it is has an automatic transsmission:(

Perfect inside and out. No rust, everthing works. No rips or tears or dash cracks inside. Timing belt done at 39,000 and just to be safe I might just do the T-Belt depending upon the year it was changed.

I am looking to keep it stock and hold on to it for a long time. What do you guys feel is a fair price to spend on this particular E30.

I look forward to the feedback,

    Drew

Is the viscous coupling still good?

Without pictures it is hard to tell but, if it is as nice as you say, then I would say in the 4-7k range.

Also do the timing belt, it is approaching the interval anyways and it's better to be safe than sorry.

I wish I had picture available to post. Will an E30 like this go up in value over the years?

An iX, definitely. They're already uncommon in good shape.

I'm glad to hear that. It is between this particualr iX or a 1988 BMW 535iS 146K, but automatic. Very very solid and clean, with no rust or mechanical or interior wear.

Well, I have the parts to convert the ix to a manual... ;)

If it's as good as you say it could be worth $4k or a little more.

If you are looking to drive then I wouldn't put much thought into what it will be worth later on down the road. You'll more than likely spend more money on maintenance and general wear items then you'll get when you sell the car. Though if you drive it occasionally it could allow you to gain an actually profit if you keep it original and don't put too many miles on it.

If this is the car you're looking for, get it. You can also do a manual transmission swap if you want to; it may even add to it's value.

It is at least a 4k car. Also, to do the manual swap you also need the t-case from a manual car.

I'd be torn to do the swap to a manual. I'd consider it if the trans or T-Case were going, but i'd like to keep it original.

Plus the shipping from Colorado to PA for your parts would cost me a pretty penny:mrgreen::(

Yeah, a little. Greyhound isn't too bad though.

                          75,000 miles?

                          probably around 8-10k on ebay.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay.
8-10k on ebay, but only about half that on r3v because r3v is notoriously cheap.
iX's are more rare than E30 M3's. Especially in good condition. Price is reflective of desirability, rarity is only part of desirability. I'd say to most people a 2 door manual iX is the most desirable, and also the most rare.

                              I'd say 6-8k
