Well, I'll go against the forum tradition and not be a dick.

Diffs, open and LSD alike will all be tagged. LSD's will have an S designation on the tag. EX. S3.73. S being LSD, and 3.73 being the ratio. The tag can be found hanging off of the case cover bolts. Thing with diffs are, they came in 3 different case sizes. Small, medium, and large. The particular cars on this forum, being the E30 3 series, accept the small and medium types. As far as I know, large cases cannot fit our cars. Small and medium cases can be differentiated around the flange areas. While dimensionally the same, the medium cases will have a bulge.

      Small case:

      Medium case:

OBC's are the little clock computers found in the stereo panels of our cars. You can tell them apart by the number of buttons they have. Some are 6 button, and some are 13 button. Early cars came with plain digital clocks and are pretty much worthless. Analog clocks on the other hand, do have value. They were a euro market only option and sell for a small premium stateside. Just remember to get the pigtails with them.

When looking for steering wheels, look for 3 spokes unless aftermarket. The non sport 4 spoke wheels are worthless, though the plain 3 spoke sport wheels aren't worth much either. Mtech 1 wheels will have the little M stripe on the bottom spoke, and these are the wheels people like. Mtech 2 are even more rare and more desirable.

Our particular cars share some suspension components with the Z3, and people use them for a 5 lug solution. Rear trailing arms in particular. The steering racks out of the non M models fetch a premium too.

Oh, and as for models, our little 3 series is the E30. E34 refers to the 1988 to 96 5 series. E32 would be the 7 series of the same era. E36 is the 3 series after ours, and E46 being the one after that one. E28 is the 5 series 87 and prior.

Hope I was at least some help lol.
