It's funny that I crashed in the SLOWEST car i've had. Probably going to get flamed for this (more so than I already am), but M42s, at least in the twisties, are MUCH more fun than M50's. It's probably because you can actually use all of its power. Or because a rev happy (r3v happy?) 4 cyl echoing through the woods actually sounds marvelous.
Nelsen plz.
Actually but really, fuck you, you're making me miss my m42 like hell. I didn't think that was possible
Personally, I have not had an accident where the car was damaged. Not one. Over half a million miles driven.
But, every time I get into my E30 to drive wherever, I'm accepting that it may never come back home. Every time I play with it, no matter how mindful I am, no matter how many times I've taken a route, every time is a little different and unexpected shit happens.
The car in my sig is my track car. Every time I take that thing out I accept that it might die a fiery death while resting on it's roof a good 30 feet outside of the fences.
However! I have been to PA, and I do know that those turn speed signs should be heeded. They're NOTHING like here, where you can do 20-30mph more than they say. But shit happens. I'll make fun of you for it, sure, everybody deserves the razzing that comes from a r3ving. But to say your retarded/foolish/whatever is just a response based purely out of reality. Because in reality, everything can, and according to the multiverse hyptotheses indeed HAS happened. You just got the one that fucked that car over.
I'm just quietly enjoying this thread. Because there are people out there who have not had a single accident.
Yet, anyway.
Someone who understands :)

Well that sucks but what you do with your car is your own business. M42's (and S14's) are a different kind of fun in E30's. Hopefully you learned a lesson and won't risk another life including your own.

Ya and don't be a fool.
I got hit from behind (lolz) in my steel-bodied 505 (much more sturdy than an E30, thank you), and I had a mild concussion, lots of soft-tissue damage (which you probably have) and became stiff-necked for a few months, and my arms started to lock out everytime that I did upper body work outs.
Good thinking. Don't forget to duct tape your dick up between your legs as well. I've put 100,000+ miles on my E30 and that doesn't include sexual encounters. Also, it lives outside in the elements.
Cool. I've owned 3 E30's since I was 17,
I'm 18 now, I've put 30k miles on both my previous E30's combined, outside elements, heavy traffic, avoiding drunk drivers, being a kid and sliding in empty lots (don't do this now, my car can't break down+ cant get tickets LOL), one auto-x day, no track days, lots of seat time in cars, and many twisties. Never had a close call, cant even recall a close incident where I thought I was going to crash. Not my first time through unknown twisties, just a bad corner and going too fast for it. I would have felt a lot worse if the cop didn't tell me the turn is notorious for people going the SPEED LIMIT to crash. A crash doesn't make you a shitty driver ;)
I'm gonna keep my car in a garage next time so I can bring it out to meets and tell people how mint my car is :)
