    E36 M3 troubles....machinists?

So, on my '95 coupe I've got Tein Super Streets.

The right rear spring keeps slipping off the adjuster, then the car sags back there.

Got the coilovers off a friend when he upgraded to ASTs. I had worn out stock suspension and wanted to get a bit lower as the car is on 18" CSL reps. Got the Teins for a great dealio, and the car handles much better, except for this problem.

I'm getting tired of sweating it out in triple digit temps w/out AC in the beater e28.

What I'm thinking, the adjuster only contacts the spring on about half of the coil's surface. The other side is the same, and I've had no problem from it.

    So I'm seriously WTFing here.

Pretty much I'm thinking of having a plate made that has a hole in the middle for the adjuster to go through, but the outside diameter is enough for the entire spring to contact it, possibly with a small lip to hold the spring on. Coupled with helper springs, I'm thinking I'll have no problem.

    Thoughts from you machining gurus?

How are the various components installed? It should be pretty damned hard for that to happen, unless you are jacking the thing up constantly.

      Pad

      Adjuster

      Spring

      Pad

Just like it was on Inufaye's M3.

Haven't had the thing in the air for a while. Last time I did the RSMs over a month ago. That's when I noticed it had fallen out first. Corrected it and drive for about a week. It did it again. Noticed the car was sitting funny in the garage. >_<

Try flipping it. Normally having the adjuster on top isn't an issue, but it might help in this case.

What you are describing would take about 10min to make, if that. Shouldnt be a big deal if thats what it comes to.

Just finding someone to do it for me. I took it all apart tonight. It'll be wayy to low if I just removed the adjuster. Rub, rub, rimscrape....

Anywho, I think the most elegant solution is to find someone to make me a disc as I described.

*MS Paint FTW. Not drawn to any scale whatsoever, obviously.

Basically, there is the spring, my spacer w/ears (black), then the adjuster. Imagine it without the spacer and you've got what's there now, except with a very thin piece of aluminium and a rubber bushing.
