So my sisters car broke down the other week. Went and picked it up. After looking into it, established that the timind belt had broke. No loud thunks or anything though. Anyway, I replaced the timing belt yesterday and started the car up. Started up but ran really roughly. I think some valves are bent. So here is where you guys come in. What do you think we should do?
Car information:
2002 Hyundai sonata v6
24x000 miles
Ran great before timing belt snap
Car is in great condition. Never had any problems with it
New tires
Sister information:
College student
Not much money to spend
Options:
Pull heads and find new ones out of a junkyard motor
Find used motor
Find cheap e30(or other car) and scrap car or sell to somebody on CL as is.
Going to do compression and leakdown tests this week. So what do you all think we should do. Opinions?
