Brake lining light on after driving in hard rain

I have new disks/pads in front and disks/drums/shoes/pads in back and today when I went for lunch I got caught in a serious storm that flooded the street and my lining light came on.

I did not replace the sensors (I have them) when I replaced all of the components because thay were not damaged as I did not let the pads get down that low.

Does it make sense that wet sensors would be ruined? I am going to wait several hours to see if it goes off after the car dries. What do you guys think?

I put brand new sensors on mine, and the light still comes on from time to time. Could just be a fluke.

The brakes work 100% and have been on for about 1500 miles so I am not concerned about operational issues, I hate dummy lights. It's very odd. I hope it just goes away.

      Thanks

If you've recently replaced your brakes and haven't done the sensors thats probably your culprit. My lights weren't on when I swapped to drilled rotors but after putting it back together they were. I just ended up hard wiring the switch closed with a jumper and callin it a day. Ahhhhhh the beauty of having an e30 as a beater.

Where is the switch? Do you mean cut the sensor off and connect the wires?

          Thanks

I didn't mean for you to do it.... I'm just too cheap to buy anything for a car that I know will not be staying around. These things are like cockroaches over here man.

You've got a loose connection in the switch (sensor as some might call it) Try taking that plug apart and cleaning it and putting it back together.... IF IT DOES IT AGAIN. Don't fix it if it ain't broke kinda thing.... the light is off... leave it. But if it comes on again try taking the plug apart and cleaning it.
