        back from the dead.

p.s. I don't think it's funny at all. In fact it pisses me off. It's such a waste.

Well, I can say with my 325Ci, which uses the m54b25, which is the same engine family as the e46 m3, has gone through 2 oil level sensors, and this one is currently acting up now
I will start up the car, and itll go on for a full minute while driving, but oil level is prefectly fine

I've seen this before, and, like then, all I can think about is Lambchop (the sock puppet) getting sucked in head first.

Does anyone have the part number for this sock? I'm guessing there must be a weight saving compared to that heavy oil cap? How much weight can I expect to shed by doing this mod?

i believe it is around 10-12 ounces. which in leymans terms means about 25 mph more on your top speed and about 45 hp.

if it was a colored sock then damn, it could be much more noticeable.

Any idiot can own any car.

I once saw someone use dirt to try fix a tranny fluid leak. The same person used a ROCK...yes...A ROCK...with JB weld on it instead of a Tranny mount.

I love the guys in new S500s who think they're the shit, until I blow them away with a 13 year old 750.
                            It's quite amusing.

i read this thread yesterday afternoon here at work, bragged how stupid someone can be to do something like that, and then, lo and behold today a customer comes in,

" i was driving, then my car wouldnt rev and lost power, i detailed it, cleaned the engine, then drove for like a half hour. can you fix it?"

i tell him well check it out. my tech calls me over and procedes to remove the intake tube boot at TB, and what do you know, a terry cloth towel is halfway stuck in the TB.

I thought about you all and felt i had to share
