I looked at G35's before I bought the Ralliart. :)

I love the s2000 chassis, but I agreed with the comments about the f20c. I wouldn't want a car that's pretty much capped out under 250hp unless you drop a large amount of money into it. And honestly I feel that if you're not going to have a fast car it should at least get good gas mileage.
I loved driving the s2000 but it was really missing that feel of "power". It felt fast until you tried to race something or pull onto the interstate.
My friend has a 350z, has right under 300hp and still gets 27-28mpg consistently. I've borrowed it for a few days at a time and although it does feel heavy I blame the electronic steering for that. He only has a set of Tanabe springs on it and it is very predictable. You can slide though a corner at full lock and still straighten out by simply letting off the throttle and tapping the brakes.
All in all, go drive a few and push them, I mean REALLY push them. That's the only way you'll know if you'll be happy in the end.Leave a comment:

I have a friend with an ap1 that he's owned since 15k miles and currently has 110k. Other then routine oil changes, timing chain tensioners and tires that car has never required any other maintenance and has never had any issues. I would also like to add that he is quite the "spirited" driver. Perhaps the 2 people you know are shitty drivers. And that engine is also pretty much at it's max, I know 2 people personally who don't beat on their cars and keep up on maintenance and have dropped valves in bone stock S2s ( one at 55k miles and the other at 81k)....I just don't see the longevity factor in an engine that is walking the line of destruction....which is one of the reasons why Honda upped the displacement in the AP2 cars.Just what I've seen though. They do handle superbly...Leave a comment:

perhaps consider the G35, it's a little more practical and IMO the interior is better thought out and less 'boy-racer'.
i vote for the post-05 facelifts. they got the more powerful (298hp) version of the VQ35.
either way, they're good cars. my dad almost bought a G35 back in 08 (until he went for a ZHP, but i digress..), and i've driven a 350Z and it was fast and fun.Leave a comment:

I owned a 350z. It was a nice car and handled well. Best car for the $$$ in my opinion( when taking into account milage etc as I bought it used.) It was very reliable, and perdictable when at the limit of grip. Overall it was a really fun car. It was a great car for high speed cruising on the hwy but seats did not give the best support and it could be fatiguing on long trips. However, even with the massive crossbeam in the back it still held a good amount of cargo espc for a 2 seater.
All that said I went from the 350z to a 91 318is and never felt it was a step backwards.Leave a comment:

S2k is twice the car a 350z is. 350z is slow, fat, and heavy. If your all about being "dope" looking get the z. If you want to have fun get the s2k. If you want the bmw side look at z3m and z4m models. They are fun too.Leave a comment:

S2000 off engineering excellence alone. The F20C, at 123.45 HP/L, held the record for producing the highest specific power output for any mass production naturally aspirated piston engine until Ferrari released the 458 Italia in 2010, which produces 124.5 HP/L.Leave a comment:
