salvage title or R title can be frustrating, one of my cars has an r title and as soon as my insurance company found out they dropped it. A few insurance companies will insure them but it definitely effects how much money you'd receive should the vehicle be totaled, something to keep in mind if its a car your gonna dump money into. If you just want a 30 to drive with liability coverage and figure if anything happens you can just part it out than it wouldn't be a bad route. my $.02
