I'm actually selling mine right now. The guilbo sheared and I've had enough. It's suppose to be my daily but it keeps going out on me and is completely unreliable. Gonna sell it and hopefully find a more reliable daily for now and get back in an e30 later down the road.

The only way my E30 will leave my possession is if it's destroyed beyond repair. That's the only reason the first one went away.

Anyone who has known me for a while knows how much work has gone into this car, and the thought of parting with it is unimaginable.

well, i dont want people to find out that I have a dildo collection in the glovebox and that the color of the ceiling gets its color from the dried up lubes i use. So I really dont want to sell it

Traded my E30 for a friends truck the other day... I couldn't help but tell him "Be careful man, I love this car" about 10 times before he promised he would be extremely careful. I couldn't stop thinking about it all day, then once I got it back we went for a nice long cruise.

My e30 has a trashed body with a shitty paint job, but it's mine. First car I've had in a while without payments, which makes me love it that much more. Only way I would let it go is the same as Janderson said, trashed.

all depends on what you replace it with! Only thing I'll miss is going to The Vintage every year. ;)

It'd be hard for me, really hard - BUT I have a feeler up.
I've come to the point where I think my education should have a priority.
I'm in debt up to my eyeballs in loans, and what would hurt me the most is seeing kids driving around in their E30s, while I'd no longer be a BMW owner.
I think I might cry if that happened, which could very well happen.

Oh well, at least I have that Peugeot.
That thing was a "total loss" or "Destroyed" several times, but I keep fixing her.
Something about being a little kid, and seeing my dad driving around in that made me think it was the coolest thing in the world.
Got my license in it, first date, first road trip, lost the v-card, etc, etc... ALL in the Peugeot.

Funny thing was, all my friend's ripped on me for having that car, but I still pulled beezies in that thing. hahahahaha.
I crack up when I think back to high school, me + Peugeot

I'd spiral into depression and stop talking to people if it was ever stolen.

I planned to keep this one my entire life. With plans to own other cars of course, but this was always my pride and joy until it was brutally taken from me.

Afterwards, I never thought I'd buy another E30 so I ended up parting out some of the best aspects of the car, and ultimately selling the entire thing back to the previous owners good friend. After months of consideration, I decided to get back on the wagon and build one rather than buying one. It would take a lot to get my new E30 out of my hands at this point, it's my third love.

                      ^That car looked CLEAN!

Mine is getting old, I almost traded it for a clean Corrado but planned on selling that when I got back to NY (I was in GA at the time, and a truly rust free cars bring MAJOR BANK up north) to get another 325.

That tells me I could part with it for the right price. Aside from that I think I'll keep her around until at least after college then sell it for a cleaner start.

I'm a little opposite and going to an all e30 car selection. I'm working on prepping my e46 M3 to sell. Fun, fast, amazingly well handling car, but it lacks the connection e30s have. It took me a month of contemplating about it and ultimately I think I'll be more happy with the e30s. They allow me to get my tinkering on and are very easy to work on.

funny you mention that, I left the e30 up at the other house and brought the Carrera with me for a week, it drove nuts not having something to thinker with.

its a weird thought. my e30 is pretty much the least valuable car ive owned and definitely the oldest indexed for the year.

I bought and sold 6 cars this year all more valuable definitely. only maybe one that ran better.

I put it on the market for months for a fraction of what the board members here think their car is worth/get and I only got 1 serious buyer.

when it fell through i decided im either stuck with it, because for 2000$ I couldnt really replace it with a perfectly running sports car other than a miata which ivee decided isnt for me. but some cash into fixing it up sort of going to keep it as a date car.

so basically yes Id totally sell it. But no one will give me even a lowball price compared to what its worth as a perfectly running sports car. If somehow I got in the 3500 4k range, damn id ditch it for a modern car 2000 up like a civic or anything really.

                              my guibo disintigrated also

I must say everyone on two bmw boards gave me terrible diagnosis and advice about it because my guibo and csb died they said my driveshaft was bad.
Theres some terrible advice regurgitation I tried to waste my time lurking and reaching people about but thats a waste of my time and theirs.
I replaced those two parts and it has been reliable since.

I must say the driveline in the e30 is among the least reliaable drivelines I have even heard of. People like to argue with that especially e30 regulars but its undeniable.

Other than that, and electrical things like guages and stuff mine has been perfectly reliable in 16k miles.

If you got over the driveline issue you would have had a lot of great miles.

the guibo in particular is awful
