So I bought a touring. 100 bux will get you anything (damn near it) when dealing with "joes" on post. Its been sitting for 4 months and neglected for god knows how long. No one knows the history about it so I bought it to keep from tearing up my neon with loading shit in the back of it. Now.... I'm a lazy sunnuvabitch and I didn't feel like doing the work to get it road worthy so I took it to my parts guy. Needed new brakes, a new rear end, a new muffler, spark plug wires, an icv, a air intake boot and a few other odds and ends. All told with purchase price and fixing I got it for less than 500 bux. Jealous yet? Just wait....
He calls me yesterday and says its a 2.7L. Using cell phones is expensive in germany so we don't go into details. I'm thinking.... its FAST. REAL fast once it gets going. The problem with the spark plug wires made it sluggish as shit to 3500rpm then it would shit and take off. So I know its not an eta. that and the tacho reads 6500 redline. So I get over there today to take some pics and ask questions. He tells me its a 2.7L eta lower end with a 2.0L head with reground valve seats to accept the 2.5L larger valves. Ok.... I was stunned. But it goes on. Its got some type of larger cam. Without pulling it he wasn't sure, but he guessed 278/278 or larger. I'm still looking at him puzzled and he keeps going. Its got an Alpina chip in it. Ok.... now I'm just amazed. As wood starts rising in my pants I ask him whats left to do to it to make it "schnell". Headers and intake is all he could say other than turbo stuff.
Now here's the real dilema. I'm only here for 9 more months. what do I do with this thing? I would so badly pimp this mofrappy out but I just can't justify spending much more on it. I guess I'm writing most of this to make yall know how me and Mike got it over here. *LOL* I'd love to pull this engine and take it back stateside with me for some fun, but boy oh boy I'd have a case of the ass trying to sell a car without a engine when I leave. *LOL* Only real plans I got for it are to fix the front valance and fenders that are damaged, paint the skirts and put my iS lip on it. Of course my wide grill and eyebrows will adorn it. I just traded a set of pop out windows for a 4door mtech II side skirt/door panel combo so that may show up on there too.... Dunno... We'll see.
