Brake clean wouldn't be great for the valve seals... and water? valves don't like water. That and it would be hard to be sure you got all of the water out of the head... If any stays in there, rust will prevail.

Hey, you wouldn't be the first person out on stock suspension and a 5K rev limiter. Hey, they race them in 24 Hrs of Lemons all the time. You just have to work around the handicap. ;)

Cam can take brake clean. Then cover it in assembly lube or oil and put it in a damn bag.

I agree, however don't put it in a bag, put it back in the head, and put the head back on the car! ;) Do use lots of assembly lube when you assemble the cam though.

Hair won't hurt a thing. You're gonna do an early oil change on it. It'll burn off or end up in your oil filter.
