Buddy of mine had a WRX wagon. Dyno'ed 270WHP or some shit.

Bone stock 95 e36 M3 still schooled him. WRX ain't got TQ. While he was trying to spool I was already gone.

I let him drive the M3 and he was forever ruined.

Also for what its worth he is was on tranny #3 when he sold the car. Sidestep clutch drops make that car take off with astonishing gforce, but the clutch/tranny won't perform that launch many times.

It has always seemed this way in cars I have driven with turbo. The power climbs log-linear so you get used to the old power level before it increases. NA cars always seem to hit you harder. Being said they are quick, I have seen them beat fast cars if they have decent drivers in them

oh i know about the differences between NA and FI cars, but to me, the stock WRX was not nearly as fast as people seemed to claim they are. Sure it was quick, but I dont think my ITR would have much trouble with one in a straight line (in the dry haha)

        oh well. I'd rather have a 24v E30

How do the WRX, STi, and EVO 8 stack up with each other in numbers? Weight, HP, Tq, Balance, that kind of stuff? My friend has an STi and my car (then a bone stock 325is) was the only car around that could give him a run at the drag strip. I never beat him but I made him a little less cocky...

The wrx trannies are their weak point. Ive heard of em going before 50000 even when driven hard. My girlfriends impreza l grinds second like a bitch already and its only got 79000 BABIED miles. The boxer motors though are rock solid.

Well I guess I have to ask if those "problems" are worth it. The number one thing that I need is a reliable car through college, I cant have it in the garage all summer and during school. Im sick of having my car reliable like 50% of the time. In the price range that I have 13k~ fairly new cars limit me to something like a E36 328is, B5 1.8t, wrx, mk4 Gti. Advice?

oh those, i'd give the nod to the e36 for reliability. Man I never I thought I'd say something like that...

Rob is going to hell for that comment. A 328is, WTF were you thinking?!?!?!?!?

With all that has been said about the WRX I must admit that the non-Sti ones are slow but compared to most of the other cars worshipped by the ricer crowd they are decent. I know the Sti can give me a run for my money.

i'd rather deal with e36 niggles than the crap VW puts out, or the tranny problems of a WRX.

So price range +reliablility out of ANY car you would plop down for an E36? They seem like kinda tool cars.

of the cars you listed, yes. Out of any cars? Fuck no, you're looking at the wrong continent (ex the suby) if you want something reliable. Honda/Acura/Yota

Word on the Toy. Just make sure there isnt a lot of body rust. That is their achillies heel. I declared a jihad on my Tacoma and it took everything I could throw at it.

Ryan, remember that blue STI and the yellow Audi that ran up the side of the hill at that park?! That was pretty cool.

There's no way a bone stock E30 should be able to even come close to competing with a WRX much less an STi. Your friend must be the worst driver this side of Miss Daisy.
