    Any WRX fans?

Im searching around the internet for a car, I never really thought about a WRX but they seem like an awesome deal. You can get a 2002 with low miles for like 13-14k, with some programming you can get like 260 hp with AWD? That seems like a E36 M3 killer. With a wagon you have the perfect sleeper, and room to boot.
    Thoughts, experiences?

Also do insurance rates go down with a wagon vs sedan?

if you're into AWD cars, they are pretty nifty, I'd take one over an audi any day of the week. If I lived in a place that snowed a lot, I'd look into one. that being said, the 04 I drove shifted like a truck and wasnt that fast (stock of course) for 220hp or whatever.

You didnt feel like the stock wrx was fast? The 0-60 seems amazing.

The audi AWD just make them heaver, and they deffinately dont need that.

Living in the woods of ct that would be nice.

I'm not a drag racer, so 0-30 foot times at the expense of a clutch dont interest me much....

If you want a comfy capable car go with the WRX, but if your looking for a drivers car try an evo, there just a little more true to there rally roots. It didn’t take long for my brother in-law to realize the a4 was a poor choice. That said both are excellent cars for those looking for awd and forced induction.

cant get an evo for less than $20k, plus the gauges look like something out of a matchbox car...

Well in what sense does it not feel fast?

I also read that evo is more of a 'driver's car'...
Friend has WRX wagon with some mods, his wife drives it and they take it sking, they love it, car is pretty fast with room to spare

you know, floor the throttle, the tach climbs, the car moves? it didnt feel fast, in the sense that it didnt accelerate rapidly? at least not nearly as rapidly as everyone else seemed to think...

not very fast, but very stable and has great potential.

"Having won more road races than any other model in history, the E30 M3 is considered by many to be the world's most successful road race car." - Simply put, E30s kick ass.

The WRX seems much quicker than my dad's A4. My girlfriend loves it. She doesnt spend any money on it, she leaves that up to me. Her's is a 2002 with 29k.

The Subarus are much better than Audis as far as performance goes IMO.. a lot less weight (the typical audi weighs what, 3700lbs?), better weight distribution (audis are like 60/40, ugh). But they seem they're built like a tin can, not solid feeling at all (esp compared to my E30). still, i'd rock one - the guys in the STi and most WRXs pretty much dominate in autox. The WRX I drove a few years ago seemed plenty fast to me, I never even got into 5th gear.
