That Blows man, sorry for your loss. At least USAA is going to take care of you and get you set up right...

And on the Prius subject, yes we generalize, but there is a reason why the stereotype exists. Smug, self righteous pricks who couldn't tell an intake port from a hole in the ground. Its a stupid little plastic car (the only thing i hate more is SMART car)

Ouch But USAA pays quick and they have always been easy to deal with. Another Prius driver arg. The ones here drive em at 80 and complain about lack of mpg they get wit them.

Yeah I am hoping USAA gets this done within the week. I just wish my neck didn't hurt. Could definitely do without that.

I think I've decided what TWO cars will be replacing my E30. Should be interesting. And the E30 may get a new body...

You do realize that there are better "Eco Boxes" out there then the Prius. Hell you could have gotten a metro and been cooler in my opinion. Don't defend the prius, it's a shit car and everyone knows it. And I agree with Thizzelle, that Prius is 100% gay.

^ Very nice. And be sure to downshift every time you see a Prius now. :giggle:

Anyways man, I hope your neck feels better. One of my relatives had a similar accident and had some injuries from it. Be sure to get that stuff squared away asap and have evidence to back your injury especially if you go to court over it.

Little update: Insurance valued just my bonestock car at $5-6k, and will take the $18k or so worth of work put into it by the previous owner and myself (including labor!) into account. The adjuster expected around $0.50 on the dollar for most mods, and stuff like camber plates that are non-wear items are valued at full retail pricing. Also, they are going to let me buy the car back for a few hundred bucks AND are going to pay me for my injuries etc.

I'll update with more clarity in a week or so when the compensation is paid out for the car and it's bought back. Then the partout will begin. Medical will begin later, I have to do physical therapy and go to a specialist for a while...

Not all Prius owners are hippies who carry a holier than thou demeanor. Heck, by your berating prii owners, you in turn are asserting dominance because you drive a twenty something year old car

We're not all horrible people. I am an enthusiast and can probably drive as well as many of you here. I don't care about the emissions or the costs of production of my car. I care that it saves me money at the pump which allows me to put money into something I care about more, my home.

My deepest condolences to the OP. I hope this experience doesn't have any lasting effects, emotionally and physically. From a Prius owner/ex e30 owner to you, get well soon.

Yes that's a lowered Prius. Yes I have undersized tires, they came with the wheels. Yes I have leds, hids, subwoofer and a home depot lip. "Enthusiasts" come in all kinds of cars folks. Don't be so quick to point the finger

A VW TDI would have been cheaper, better on gas, better for the environment, and yes, less gay.

is it funny that a 30 year old honda gets better *real* fuel economy than a 2012 Prius? You bet!

WOW. I just fought with insurance after someone backed into me. They tried totaling my car over a fender, hood and headlight. They said my car was only worth $1900 and that's was what they were going to offer me, with them keeping my car. I called my lawyer, he spit about 20 seconds worth of law at them, got em to go to $2000 and I keep the car/clean title. They didn't care about any of my mods, etc. I could've fought it for more, but i just wanna move on.

So, it sounds like you'll make out pretty well, if that's the case! Glad to hear that. Sorry about your car, though.

We've discussed the Prius BS enough haven't we? Consumer reports is leaning toward Honda Fit's and TDi as a better car.

Honda Civic HF back in the day got high 40 with ease but it was what 1900 pounds dry.

Pollution: hmm down the road with the non recyclable battery or just the measured out put from the exhaust pipe? Should we count the emissions made by the Coal Plant that makes the electricity?
