    Bidding on ebay.de??

Anyone ever buy something from ebay.de? How does all that work? I want to start ordering stuff but i'm little reluctant. Any advice for me? Thanks, Dave

    sprechen Sie Deutsches.

Seriously though, it works just like eBay.com.

Except most of the users are in Germany. Go figure. The language barrier can be a trifle of a problem.

As far as currency, Paypal takes care of the $ to € conversion.

I bought some 15" basketweaves there. Make sure you check out with the seller first that they will ship here and that you'll pick up the cost. They pretty much all speak english, so they will reply accordingly.

Also make sure you know the cost of mailing it here! Here is German post's page in english http://www.deutschepost.de/dpag?chec...EN&xmlFile=828

I worried the whole time until the wheels arrived, but they did come.

Also, find a good online translator so you know what they are advertising.

          FYI
Many german users on e-bay.de plan on a language barrier with US buyers and often use this to their advantage in not shipping the stuff and claiming it "lost" in the mail.

Not all ebay.de users are shaddy, but be careful

ask the seller if he will ship to US, also ask if he speaks English.

I bought many-many items on Ebay.de with no problems, but always contacted the seller prior to placing the bid

              take a german 101 class and buy a german-english dictionary ;)

as with any ebay transaction, check the feedback of the seller, be sure you get his name and address, and use paypal for a safe transaction.

I know enough german to read most of the descriptions but mainly the dollar to euro conversion and shipping costs kill any potential interest I might have in buying directly from germany.
