A convertible is better for cruising anyhow.

thanks guys. I live in a college house and don't have much access to tools etc. My reasoning for paying for an oil change is that the cost of oil and filter was about 50 bucks, so for 20 dollars more somebody else got dirty.

I'll be the first to admit i'm not gifted when it comes to working with my hands, so I would rather have somebody else do it, than me destroy my car. It's damn clean and I want to keep it this way.

the suspension set up feels great actually. it's not stiff but also not too soft. the car isn't ridiculously low either. maybe H&R changed the spring rates or something. Mr.LUGO is my roomate and he can attest to that.

A great thing about owning an E30 is to get your hand dirty and learn about the car. You need to have a basic set of tool unless your parents are well off. Having someone else taking care of your E30 will not be cheap.

Actually the cup kit for the convertible is different than the cup kit for coupes/sedans. It's a much smaller drop so the usual, "It's way too low" doesn't really apply.

When you can get your hands dirty so you can really learn about the car.

Good stuff. Not a bad deal on getting the water pump, timing belt, and other jib-jab purchased and installed.

I run synthetic oil and Mann filters (German) and it costs max 30 dollars. all depends where you buy your oil. find a harbor freight/ sears and invest 150 to 200 bucks in tools and you can do 80% of work on your E30. and the bently manual is available in PDF for free online so you don't need to be gifted. you will save lots of money for college expenses such as booze, munchies and certain party favors if one is into such things.

RENNSTALL, they are a vendor on this forum.

And as far as getting my hands dirty. I went and bought tools and a jack and tried to put in my front suspension. Needless to say, 8 hours later it was on and my car drove like shit. So the next day I paid someone to fix it for me.

I do plan on doing things myself though. I want to buy the brake kit from Ireland Engineering and plan on doing that myself.

You paid 70$ for oil? was it wrapped in silk and crafted by virgins?
