Impressive. Wonder if Tom Jr. will be driving as much this year, was pretty impressed by his performance this year.

So they got their lunch eaten this past season in Grand Am by the 996's and the Tube frame GTO's, in response to this, they're going to an exhibition class in the ALMS (GT2-S) that doesn't run at Le Mans. This basically means they're racing themselves.

PTG seems to have a tendancy to take their ball and go home when someone beats them. After the rules changes in the ALMS in 2002, they left and went to SWCGT, after the rules were tweaked in that series in 2003, they left and went to Grand Am. After bigger name teams such as the Racers Group came in to Grand Am in 2005, they're bailing and going back to this exhibition class where they only really have to race themselves.

Kind of disapointing to be honest.

What is the difference between GT and GTS classes? All classes for that matter.

Last year my moms cousin, Liz Halliday, was driving one of the Racers Group GT3's. When she was at P.I.R. we got free tickets and all, so awesome. Like it's been said you can chill in the pits and no one cares, it was great. My mom's idol is Kyle Petty and we ran into him in the pits (he was racing the 'Petty in Pink' GT3) so she got to talk with him for a little bit and have some pictures taken with him.

Definitely a good time. And hearing the Prototypes fly around the track was sex.

I supose it was a different kind of fun, though. Anyways they let you kick it in the pits, walk around the paddock with the drivers, be in the garages while the teams work in the garages on the cars. I was right behind the PTG team pit wall when they came in after winning the race. Blew my mind. We even hopped the wall and took pics of the cars after the drivers had left and the teams walked off. No one even tripped or gave us a second look when we were getting close to the cars. No way in shit that theyd let you be that close to anything in F1 or any other important racing. All for $30 too.
Bro, we went to Grand Am, not ALMS :)

ALMS has no GTS & GT classes any more. Some slight rule changes but its GT1 & GT2, same cars though.

I might hit road of america this season in wisconson this 2006 season.

I went to the ALMS at Portland International Raceway two years ago. They're usually in late Summer, Josh. Hell of a good time.

That M3 will get stomped by the 996 GT3 anyhow. They dominated worlds when I saw them.
