And I can tell you that if you put your car on ebay for $4175, you'll probably get it, and more. with less hassle.

    BUT!

There's a BIG Factor I'm completely forgetting, and you're possibly forgetting too.
You're in Sacramento. There are far more E30's to buy the big stuff locally instead of shipping. I just gave away a good hood and threw good ones 2 away. Several windows. Doors would've never sold. The caveat is that those parts are more available down there, so they will cost less and you'll be competing with pick-n-pulls.

The only real rusty shitty portions of the cars up here are the fenders, rockers, and the rear aprons. Everything else is usually fair game, especially after a round in the blaster or parts cleaner.

But, it sounds like you've already made up your mind. Good luck to your endeavor.

True, on the first part, but having frequented the pick and pulls, if I were to part it. My paint is awesome, which means a lot to someone looking for a match. The crap at PnP is generally in much worse shape.

That said, I've not made up my mind. I love how everyone wants to project their opinions onto other people. I simply asked a question to try to get a good frame of reference.

You're posting this everywhere and are obviously very anxious to sell after like a day. The biggest mistake you're making is assuming that people are going to be lining up to buy every part you have for sale. Even if your prices aren't too far off (which they don't seem to be), you're gonna be sitting on half that stuff for a long ass time. Do everyone a favor and sell the car as a whole. I guarantee you--100% guarantee, with complete certainty that you will have a harder time getting rid of every part of this car piece by piece than you will have selling it as a whole.

Not anxious. Perhaps I'm over enthusiastic with my advertisement. Thanks for the advice.

What he said... you could ebay this and get a good bit of money for it. I've seen clean low mileage late model verts on there go anywhere from $5k to $10k.

Sell the car, it may take a week or 3 but a clean stock vert like that should go real quick once you find a buyer. And don't be lazy! Make sure people know its for sale!
I would hate to see that thing parted out!

Working on that. Posted here and CL. Any other good sites to post for sale cars on besides ebay? Our local NorCal site was hacked and has no traffic anymore. E30tech for sale appears to be a repost of R3V...

I may end up going to ebay down the road.

Funny that you would post on an E30 enthusiast forum, announcing that you were considering trashing an extremely nice example of one because it needs a maintenance item (an major one, no doubt, but still), and because you don't feel like looking for another part for your car, and then are surprised when people have a strong opinion about it.
Guys come on here to commiserate when anything bad happens to their rides in part because they know there will come a time when they are not nearly so plentiful. One of the functions of car forum/club is to help preserve the mark so they can be enjoyed over time. These are special cars and they've quit making them, so don't be in a hurry to get rid of them.
Just sell the car, you'll come out ahead in time for sure and possibly money. As for finding a "low-mile" trans, the one in my racecar has 220K miles and 5 race seasons on it and it neither grinds or leaks.

I'm not surprised that people have an opinion, just amazed at people's need to comment (off topic) on other people's posts. I guess I'm on a kick right now about how rude people are on the internet. If we were all standing around enjoying a beer at a car meet and I asked the same question, the responses would be very different. People's opinions would be the same, but without the macho sauce that is anonymity, but they would express them quite differently.

Anyway, I was just looking for information so that I could make an informed decision. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I try not to crap on people's threads...
