How dose the search engine work? do you have a data base list or dose it simply search specific webpages for relavent links?

I ask because if it is a data base we could all help populate it.

It is a database, register and sign in to gain access to the submit page.
At the moment it uses html code instead of BB code (what the forums uses).
I'm trying to find a html editor to simplify the process for those who do not know html that well.

I was just surprised that someone would come here and say that they are building a better E30 site.

My comment that r3v would be useless was based on the fact that I thought OP was going to also have a forum.

you say it's predominately search-based.. so will it have information in a database that you store on your own server or not? because if that's the case, like another poster said above me, you could make it into a wiki-type format and have a few moderators to clean up the nonsense. it may make your life easier and keep the information more varied and more accurate.

Let me know if you need html help, I am currently working on maybe 3 websites ATM.

Use Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 express to write the code, much better. Its free also!
