Cars for people who don't give a shit how the thing works but have the money to pay the badge.
What surprises me is that BMW has the need for that kind of customer.

80% of people don't know the difference or can feel it when they drive. I've seen countless people putting snow chains on the rear wheels of their accord, Camry ect.

Who cares? I wouldn't ever buy any newer BMW anyway. BMW is a very different company now then it was in the e30 era. I'm an e30 enthusiast not a BMW enthusiast. I don't even want to be associated with the stereotypical demographic that buys new BMWs.

The only way I care even remotely about BMW is OEM parts availability.

This is old news. BMW will make fwd for their econo-cars and rwd for the rest of the lineups.

Well the Mini has a Mini badge and was originally FWD so this doesnt count although I could argue the Mini would be twice as fun in RWD.
Guess I'm just a hater when it comes to fwd, I hate torque steer and love drifting
Not trying to rant too much but, I hate automatics as much as fwd as they are unreliable and expensive to fix and boring as hell. Standards seem like they are becoming a thing of the past, it seems everyone buying new cars today has a lazy left foot.
Have you been to a Jeep dealership lately? My buddy was test driving wranglers and asked for a stick and they had none, wtf is wrong with people today
                        done ranting

They don't have the balls to revive the Isetta.

                            +1 SVT's are badass!

Also, the BMW nameplate is mostely for status anyway. MOST of bmw's target market could care less about what wheels drive the car. Handling and driving dynamics seem just an added benefit to paying the premium for the BMW badge, not the initial reason for purchasing.
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

Honestly could care less if they do go with the FWD, i dont hate it or anything, its not my cup of tea, im a RWD or AWD person, but from here on out any true BMW or car enthusiast will still admire us E30 owners or up to whatever year they technically went to shit(aka mainstream) for being a purist

I wouldnt be surprised within the next few years new teen drivers will be rolling in BMWs rather than Hondas
