Rice burner: A car from Asia.
Rice + burner = ricer
Technically any car from Asia.Leave a comment:

I think a lot of people got a little excited over this thread, the BMW and the HONDA posted a few pages back are not RICER, the definitions that were coming out early on are ricer, the BMW is tastfully moded, who cares if some of the parts are from Asia, that Honda looks clean and relatvely stock, they arent trying to show off, they are in it for pure fun of owning that Honda, who cares if its FWD or RWD, that is not what makes a car ricer or not.
Look at these two cars, first one, all asian, has asian aftermarket parts, NOT RICER

here is another example, of a FWD vehicle that is insanely clean, and not RICER

however, this is most def ricer

The Evo 1-10 disagrees with you. So does the Mini Cooper. Not the new chick-car one, but the car that won the Monte Carlo rally a few times back in the 60's.
Rice: Hood pins on cars that still have hinges and/or ordinary hood latches.Leave a comment:

The only reason you would want a full titanium exhaust is to lose weight, mostly in the back of the car. In a Honda you don't need to lose weight in the back. It's already front heavy enough.
Because ricecarI guess what I'm gathering, please correct me if I'm wrong, is that your car basically has to look stock or be a complete sleeper if it has higher performance than the way it was bought. All of the small touches of personalization are "rice" because they make your car different than others on the road and don't blend in with all of the other boring ones out there.

The point that I trying to convey is that there are many was to skin the cat when trying to increase the performance of your vehicle, let's say in the area of power to weight ratio. You can increase the power (choose you preferred method) or reduce the weight by using lighter replacement parts (that exhaust being an example). Adding a turbo charger or supercharger would not be "rice" but reducing weight via the use of lighter parts (cf, titanium, your choice) would be?All the welds in that thread that are "blueing" are on stainless. I'm well aware of what metals do when they are heated, I'm playing dumb to try to get you to realize that using that exhaust to say the car isn't rice is counter-intuitive. I'm sure that exhaust is of great quality and is quite expensive, but it's right up there with wrapping something in carbon fiber - purely for looks. And that is what the core of "rice" is.
This is where you got me wrong. For me adding a full, complete (original vs replica is a debate for another day) Alpina or Hartge body kit to a deserving e30 is not "rice". However according the opinion that is prevalent in this thread, it would be.Last edited by Vspec; 10-17-2012, 10:58 AM.Leave a comment:

That is beyond the point, I am not going to argue that the blueing of the tips only serves aesthetics purposes.
I am going to argue that a full exhaust from manifold to tips, entirely made of titanium is not rice.
I'm aware that what I like in cars is considered rice by that ruling. So what, everyone would have stock cars or race cars if no one did anything for looks.Leave a comment:

But they do hella awesome in the hands of the right rally driverYou put more than 325ishwhp in a FWD car you completely lose handling. Fwd cars will alsob never be anywhere close to a 50/50 ratio... There not made for road racing. There not made for drag racing. There made because its cheaper to do and most drivers on the road can't handle a a rwd car in the winter lol.. there's a reason a Honda isn't called the ultimate driving machineLeave a comment:
