The one in my car was not made by me, some local dude was making and selling them for a bit. I'll quote a friend of his from our local forum who was there when one was made.



Mine is glued into the console, not press fit. I have never had a drink that interfers with my driving, this is true for all my e30's. I've had this console with a z4 3.0, z3 1.9, stock e30, and my current x5 shift lever and none of them have ever put my arms in a position that they hit the drinks as everything in these holders sits low enough to be well below your elbows

Any chance you can get a part number or a upc for that cup holder to get comparable "specs"?

The mounts next to the ebrake seem the best to me. However i would like to see one made where the rear ashtray/coin tray.

It is within reach and doesn't interfere with driver or passenger space...

Dremel, time, CT cupholders (canadian tire, generic home/auto store in canada) and black spray paint. I believe first gen was friction fit, you can figure yours out better. I know this to be 95% accurate, I saw him do it to his.

The cupholders in my e30, never get in the way and are able to hold almost any coffee or can of pop, no mcfatty sized drinks though

Blocks my knuckles and takes away a place for my phone and iPod touch.

I hated my husco. With a drink in, it's in the way of shifting.

Yup, I sat in an e30 with one installed. And that custom one above looks clean but again is in the way.

I completely understand that, but since I cannot afford a race car and another daily...for now. I thought it would be neat to fab up something that bolts in. I bolt it in for DD status and unbolt for SCCA.

A cheaper version of a husco will be just fine as the cup holder part is retractable. That is a plus.

The husco armrest looks cheap and out of place enough as it is IMO.
