to tint or not to tint?

Guys, wanted an opinion from you. I am thinking about tinting my windows on my 325is and was wondering about your opinion. Normally I wouldn't do it but my wife and I are getting ready to have a baby and I simply refuse to put up the roller shades to protect the baby from the sun. I know those are temporary, but simply hideous.

So what would you do tint or no tint (or any other suggestion that would be helpful)

Well, depending on the state laws, some states won't let you tint your front windows, like NY (for me), but i did it anyway, i love the look of tinted windows. Doesn't help that much with the cooling in the summer issue, but for looks, i love it, just please, for the love of god, dont do it yourself. have a pro do it.

it disgusts me to see these people with purple tint and bubbles in their tint.. ouch.

well, you are right about that, those windows are pretty big. I am a man who loves his visibility in driving. Unfortunately, i like the look better ... adds a new dimension and an updated look

Everyone has there own taste's. I agree that E30 windows are big and belive THATS why they should be tinted. I like the tinted look. But like mentioned it all up to your taste and IF you do decide to tint spend the xtra for a pro to do it. Its always worth it in the end.

i say tint the b/c it looks better IMHO....AND....that was the only thing holding my cracked rear window in when it broke.

Oh yeah, does anybody know if it's possible to take tint off of the rear window without destroying the defogger??? Anybody know how much the pros do it and how much it will cost to take it off and replace it with new tint? (the old tint has a rip in it, looks terrible) any price quotes??

usually, a plastic rasor blade and some rubbing alcohol or ammonia does a good job of breaking down the glue.

I like tint on the e30, just not blacked out.

this is my personal opinion on the e30, but I don't really see any other choice for my situation. I refuse to put up those sun shades.

Thanks for the input guys, I don't mind the tint on e30s but I would prefer not to do it. If I do decide to go this way, believe me it will be done by a professional.

Yeah, I don't see how changing the colors of your windows makes a car look newer. Its not like all new cars come with tint or something.

I think it fills out the car better, considering that the windows are so big, it makes it look more... ..incognito. lol
