I was thinking of doing an Alpina shirt and I was wondering what car people think would look the best.

I'd have to say E12 or E24 Alpina. E28 is a close second, followed by the E30. The body lines of the E12 and E24 are just amazing.

Hands down: the b6 3.5s. Based on the e30m3. Only 62 built. This is the only m car alpina ever modified. This is the schiz.

I actually don't like the mtree alpina. Not classy enough for the alpina name.

                      b3 2.8?

i think it is actually a b3 2.7. i agree that is a very nice car..... anyway, by your standard, how is this "classier" than a 3.5s? the only thing the m3 doesn't have is the cow catcher front spoiler. while that is indeed cool, it really sucks for drivability as far as the car is concerned. they are made of fiberglass these days. imagine driving a car like that and being scared shitless of every little potthole in the road knowing that at any time it can destroy the front valance on your car. every mistake will cost you about 1500.00 in repairs. (purchase of valance, shipping, paint, etc....)

since this is a 3 series fourm, if we were to only consider those (as is your choice as well above), i think most on this forum would agree that (apples for apples) any e30m3 trumps the crap out of any standard non m car. ie: standard m3 vs. standard e30, hartge m3 vs hartge e30, alpina m3 vs. alpina e30.

with this line of thought, arguably the only car better than the b6 3.5s would be the hartge m3 that was fortunate enough to be implanted with an s38. i personally don't think hartge's look nearly as good as any alpina though.

I think the Cow plow front end with the naked rear end is what makes the Alpine. If we are talking Alpina models, the M3 is not my favorite.
