non of the 7 series models even come close when youre talking about the likes of the E30 ///m3, 3.0 CSL, 2002 turbo, etc. Non of them (7ers) even made a mark in terms of the original core aim of BMWs. Its not exactly BMWs bread and butter car by any means. But it does however BMW-fy the large family sedan.

ok i am going to say it.....this thread is gay. all the BMW's are nice. comparing a 7 to a m3 is pretty dumb...both of them are the best in there class but lets not compare apples to oranges. THEY ARE ALL NICE!!!!!!!!

These where built when BMW engineers had a lot of say in product development plus the advancements in technology and lessons learned at the track (80s were big years for the Motorsport Dept.). Afterwards, the bean-counters started running things and that's when quality and 'soul' started to vanish.

CSL 3.0
E31s
E30s - late models in particular
E39s - even the tourings IMHO
E46 M3 CSL
upcoming Z4 coupe
E64/65 (new 6)
