Pop the blanks out to reach behind it and push it out.

I tried and I don't know how to do that without messing up the console with a small flathead or something.

okay this is getting worse. How do you take out the radio if it's aftermarket?

Pop the outer trim off, then on each side you usually have to stick a special tool in far enough to release the headunit from the metal harness. If you can find something skinny/long enough, you can use that instead. You'll know when it's released, it should slide right out.

it should've came with these 2 sliding prongs you insert on the side of the unit (between the metal cage and the unit itself). It will release the unit from the cage and you just pull it out.

To remove the radio you'll need the special keys designed for the radio. I didn't have any so I went to the local audio place and they let me borrow their keys.

You can remove the OBC pretty easily and possibly pop it out from there if you can reach.

Or a very strong, small suction cup :p

Just get a very thin flat head and pop a blank first from a corner and them push the defrost out.

This, it is a ridiculous wast of time to pull anything out to do this job.

Alright I got it. Thank you guys. I did just take out the stereo which was good to learn that the PO gave me the box to the stereo or else I wouldn't have been able to get it out! But I did move the switches into other slots, is there any harm with that?

It's best to remove the transmission and reach through the shifter hole.
