I am going to pull the drain plugs. Been so busy. I just had to drive to exit 20 on 78 west (30 mintue) to get gas. No wait. There is a 3 to 4 hours line for gas in the inner city.

I'm in the DC area. I live at the top of a hill, so I wasn't worried about flooding as much as flying debris. I figured the best option was to squeeze the BMWs inside and offer up the Toyota as a sacrifice. Ultimately, we got lucky: no damage and the power stayed on.

NO, pull the plugs first and spin it over that way you dont hydrolock that one cylinder that was open.

OP, Sorry to hear about your misfortune, If the water was "fresh" I say strip it down, pressure wash everything, apply liberal amounts of Lysol or some other disinfectant to EVERYTHING and let the cleaned parts dry-out until bone dry.

I mean for the most part, everything *should*be ok... ECU may be shot, you can try to dry it too idk.

if the engine flooded out, drain all oil etc, pull plugs blow water out of cylinders with compressed air, squirt in a little WD40 or something and refill with fluids when done try starting it...

you have a lot of love and time in your e30, so invest a day of labor and see what happens.

Maybe people should wait to pass judgment and criticize others until they have all the facts, or maybe they should just keep their opinions to themselves altogether, especially when someone is obviously going through a tough enough time already

Hey I know there can be a lot of variables in this, but I would check with your home owners insurance. It all depends on your actual policy, but I do know home owners insurance can cover auto damage sustained on your property. Good luck man, and sorry to hear about this.
