Call the proper authorities forthwith. The more time you waste not calling them, the less likely you are to get your car back.

I talked to Both USAA and IAA .

IAA tells me they cant sell my car , they dont have the paperwork to . They say they take pictures of the car for "Inventory" purposes...

Talk to USAA. My Adjuster isint in the office on weekends.
They say theyre still trying to "put together numbers " to see what my car is worth and they are not going to sell it out from under me.

Apparenly this is typical protocal with USAA, whenever These scumbags think a car will be a total loss they go threw this procedure.

My Adjuster, Chris. Will be getting an earful on monday as to why my car is sitting in a lot unlocked with no plates on it.

So IAA says they're not going to sell it, your insurance company says it's not being sold, so what's the problem, now?

I understand you're frustrated it was towed when it could have been driven, but that could be a matter of policy. Understandable. The "Loss Type: Collision" stickers put on it by IAA seems a little premature, yeah. Probably a mistake on someone's part to assume it was a loss.

I'm not so sure this is something worth calling the police over. No one's selling your car.

I'm pretty sure "Loss Type: Collision" does not mean they're assuming it's a total loss. It's insurance terminology (you, as the insured, have suffered a loss for which you need to be compensated, via repair or replacement) and is likely there to point the adjustor to the basic general area of loss during the initial estimate, seeing how the damage is relatively minor and doesn't immediately jump out. A flooded car would likely have a "Loss Type: Flood" label and a car with engine fire damage would have a "Loss Type: Fire" label.
