You could lease a brand new WRX for $307/mo (42 mo) with $2k down...ends up being around $15k if you're into that. Saves you some cash so you can flip BMW parts :D

I see where your coming from. The reason I sold my truck and bought a e30 is I have a company work truck I honestly hardly ever need to drive the e30 but I drive it for fun but if it was a commuter with the 5 speed and mediocre a/c at low speeds it probably wouldn't be my dd for long.

On the other hand I don't like car payments especially for something blah

did you look at the veloster?

not the fastest cor on the road, but not too bad and my friend is getting 52 mpg on the highway after he did a cat back. the car is rated at 42MPG AND he ACTUALLY GAINED mpg over factory with a muffler shop cat back!!!!!

like i said, it is no speed demon, but my friend is french so he is used to slow cars that get good milage.

check on out before you buy.

Veloster starts at 17.4 base. Add anything and it shoots right up. That car is so ugly in my opinion I wouldn't be caught dead in it. Is he running the turbo model or the base na?

epa estimates are exactly that, estimates. Id be glad to settle with 30. Every manufacturer is changing their stickers because of a lot of crack down on the epa "estimates". Even Hyundai is taking a lot of flack for it and is currently handing out debit cards to anyone who has a hyundai with the beefed up "estimates"

Im not leasing. I will kill myself with the mileage penalties.
            Last time I say it.

Not buying a mid 2000's car and putting money into it just to get it working or in better shape than its in. Im tired of working on my daily or putting money into them. I want a reliable, factory warrantied, commuter car.

I test drove the cruze ls and actually enjoyed it. I will be driving it again tomorrow and thinning the price more. Thing comes fully loaded with everything except a sunroof, leather, navi and heated seats. I can care less about that shit since I can tether my phone and have a comfortable car. 9500 miles on it.

Daily driving my e30 for long commutes is not cool for me. High revs with my tall diff, its a vert with road noise, and the shape its in leaves it as a garage car that needs to be worked on. Im not buying a second e30 to have the exact same thing. I love my vert for cruising and hanging my surfboard out the back, not commuting to work.

Call me arrogant or spoiling myself but I can easily justify a small payment for the type of cars I am looking at.

and to whoever told me to look at Kia...I guess you said that since I am looking at Hyundai.

btw my job allows me to pay 30 bucks a month to verizon for unlimited data....so I use pandora like its my job. I predict my avg data will exceed 5-6gbs

my friend has the NA model. he was out the door for $17 on a fully loaded car. 4 months old traded in on a different colour by some rich daddy's girl in HS.

i don't think they are that bad looking, they are what they are suppoded to be, a communter car that gets great mpg and has a great warrenty.

I like that one but I'm not convinced the electric version is worth an extra 20K even though it gets 3x the mileage. manufacturers really need to scale their hybrid/electric offerings more competitively. You can't recoup the cost unless you drive the vehicles for decades but they're still the same base models as the econoboxes that might be hard pressed to last 30 years.
Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!

high revs means you have a short diff, just had to point that out so you don't go on forever mixing up the term.

I had a rental cruze last summer and did a road trip in it, really not that bad of an A to B car and decent looking in black. good luck and enjoy the (relative) comfort !

                      this.
I sell these things all day long with 25k miles 7yr/100k warranty and people walk out the door with them for 13.5-15k

When the e30 is broken i use an 03 Corolla for my big ass commute.

Hasnt ever broken ever. I had a couple of calipers feeze up but thats it. And the CEL came on for a evap code. 102k miles and hasnt needed any front End components .

I hate toyotas. its so terrible an lifeless to drive. Wouldnt reccomend it to anyone. But after getting rear-ended during my commute i dont really want to use an e30 anymore.

It actually only gets 2-3 mpg better then my 325is.

That completly useless peice of info asside. I would definetly look at the new focus.

I'd go with a new focus or a diesel golf , driven both not as good as the e30 but both drive nice and are quiet and fuel efficant

What? No one is talking about the electric version...
