I got to ride in a customer's Dinan E39 M5 once. It had every performance mod Dinan offered, including taller gearing. It was definately a kick in the ass; you got pinned to the seat, yet at the same time the power delivery was so smooth and the car was so refined you didn't realize how much you were really breaking the law. The sound of the V8 is spine tingling.

Basically what I am saying is that if the old M5 kicked so much ass, I can't even imagine what the new one is like - with 500hp to boot.

Having driven 3 E60 M5's now I can say they are fucking awesome cars.
I am about to pruchase an E39 540i6 as a daily driver, hopefully I can throw a blower on it soon enough so I can al least make some more power... I agree that E39's are awesome, but the E60 M5 is a fucking awesome car, as well as the 545i/550i 6 speeds.

Just saw one in the dealership yesterday. Silver, for 94k. Im with nando though, wasnt too impressed with the interior, but it is a hotttt car.

I know what you mean about the e39 540i6 ryan. That car is probably the one im buying for a daily once I get into a decent job, hopefully bmw dealer. I have fun in our 528iA and if thats possible, I'll go crazy in the 540.

Dinan also brought a m3 fully tuned to demo what you can order through parts. I'm sure Ryan saw it, they said they were hitting up all BMW dealerships from San Fran to San Diego.

I really miss my e39 540i/6. Im thinking of selling the M to get one come summer. Its just more practical and torque is so much fun. Eventually Ill own my dream of the e39 m5 though.

the market for e39 is soo floaded in CA. u can get a 2000 e39 m5 for ~$28K. which is why thats is going to be my new car come summer '06.
