Looking to repaint our 325i

brilliant rot is just a 1 stage paint from the factory. there is no reason to waste money on getting a 2 stage paint. all non- metallic colors from BMW are 1 stage. I sprayed a bunch of stuff on my winter car, before the winter, and its really not worth the extra money for 2 stage on a red car. it will just blush, and fade anyway- something to do with the pigments in the color- same with silver shades.

The car is actually Zinnoberrot, I was wrong on the color, I was thinking of a friend's car.

If it's only a single stage paint, then I'll go single stage with it, and just try to find the best paint possible for the job.

And TJ, yes, I did gather as much :) I'll be doing all the sanding, fixing imperfections, etc. in the garage before the car goes to the painters. This will likely not happen for a few months though, just figured I'd gather some information on the subject.

I think dupont's reds are supposed to last a lot longer than other companys reds such as PPG but dupont costs almost twice as much.
