I had an e46 before my e30. It probably doesn't mean much, but I would never go back. Spending a little on new dampers for your e30 is less rewarding in the short run, but imo probably more rewarding AND cheaper in the long run.

If you can easily afford a new car then just keep the e30, use it s a weekend fun car. If it still puts a smile on your face driving it then I would definitely keep it. These regret threads come up every so often and sure enough 3 months later their back on the board sayin how much they wish they kept the e30. Granted I'm 21 years old but I feel that I'll never sell the e30.

edit- I didn't see that you said you don't have the space, if that's the case then I guess you might have to sell it but I would really find a way to keep it. street park it? drive way? 2 car lift with the e30 on top and 335d underneath lol

I will only sell my car if I HAVE to sell it.

I can admit that I also have been bit with the new car bug, and heck why not, you only live once.

oh come on herbi, you know you want something newer. Sure a newer BMW is safer and more fuel efficient etc. but in the long run it'll also need it's share of maint. and repairs just like an e30.

Within the next few months if I start making some decent coin on this current project, I'm seriously considering getting rid of old faithful and getting something newer. what that is, I have yet to decide

My view is that the only reason to sell a car is if you genuinely don't like it. Don't sacrifice your own enjoyment so that you can fulfill self-imposed and invented restrictions.

If you don't enjoy it, then sell. If you get joy from driving it and you like it still, then keep it!

My mom was about to sell her 69 Beetle and I told her that and she decided to keep it. She's very happy she did, and started driving it a lot more lately. :)

    Any regrets selling your E30?

I can't decide if I want to sell my euro E30 for a used 135i or 335d. I got 2 kids that I tote around every day and can easily afford a newer car, but have a pretty sweet E30. I must be getting old because the suspension is feeling a little harsh and I'm all of a sudden concerned about safety. So I've been checking out the the newer BMW's and thinking perhaps they would be more practical. I'm on the fence as to whether or not to sell my E30. I will not find another like it if I do and don't want to regret it if a new car is completely boring after a couple months.
Anyone been through that experience and can shed some light?
BTW, I don't have the space to keep both the E30 and another DD.
