RE: Mercedes 190e 16v need some unbiased ADVICE!!!

I have this MB 190e 2.3-16v cosworth automatic that I have been holding on for a while. I have this guy wanted to trade his 94 e34 530i 5 speed it's clean but it's slammed rolling on style 5 wheels. I like the car e34 but I'm not sure if I should trade my cosworth for this car. Need some unbiased advice.

Don't do it.

The 530i in the e34 is a very crappy 3.0 - V8. The least desirable motor to come in the e34 next to the M20 in the 1989 & 1990 525i. Your Cosworth is a much better car.

I had a mb cosworth 1987 auto.

You should keep your MB:). Not many of them around in good shape, and they are considered a little below the e30 m3.....I did not say they are the same or as good as a e30 m3:)

now sure how likely you are to find one of these, but +1 nonetheless..

I had an '86 190E 16v with the 5 speed and my buddy had an '87 with the auto at the same time.. I would leave him in the dust after the shift to second everytime.. much more enjoyable driving experience with the manual in that car by far - has a very unique shift feel to it (notchy but positive)

Oh and as far as the comparison to an E30 M3, my dad's buddy had one at the time (bone stock '89) and dare I say, my Benz used to take him everytime too (not by much, but enough to make me giggle)..
