    Automotive Jobs in PNW

To make this as simple as possible, I am considering the PNW (more or less Oregon) area as a possibility to move out to in the next year or so. I am currently saving for it and finishing up my turbo e30 early 2013.

I know a lot of guys from here are located in that area. Is it skimpy with job opportunities? Here in jersey there are a lot of options but as of thus far, i haven't really found a place that I fit into (whethor it be scheduling or how the shop is ran). I am looking for personal or close experiences with the automotive field as a tech in PNW.

    Thanks

I am my early 20s, I will have my schooling done this semister with an associates in automotive technology.

Personal experience, Ive pulled engines, rebuilding my m20, lowered tons of cars, mild diagnosis etc.

I work part time in a restoration shop, I have worked in a chain automotive store. I didnt like how pressed they were to sell customers on crap. I have a couple friends all working in different places and it seems to be the same way, bring up all data and sell the customer on something since their car has hit a certain mileage interval.

I am considering starting a new life, I am looking for a job that I could work my way up. I do not have any issues and would assume Id start with the basics (alignments/tires etc). I do not want to get flamed for people asking why I want to move, nor do I feel its necessary to explain my situation to forum members, but I am just looking for input from those in the PNW. Thanks

cool little perk. I talked to a friend of mine who grew up in oregon, and from what he has told me it seems as a good fit living wise to me.. he misses it. I am just relatively sure I am going try entering the auto workforce atleast once I graduate, but automotive schooling has just been something ive wanted to learn since I could remember.

            Anyone working in the field?

Oregon is nice but the people who live in downtown Portland are weird as shit.
