Yeah, many will miss the sarcasm we like to use here on a daily basis and pass judgement but it's alright. I was actually going to make a smug comment as well about the supposed RS4 but this is a very real tragedy for all involved. Sounds to me it was due to the negligence of the transport company and they should have the insurance to cover it.

It's been established long ago that Jalopnik commentors are self-righteous assholes (coming from a formerly starred commentor).

Hopefully it gets sorted, but I expect a mess.
Sorry to hear about all this Matt, especially the insult to injury of dealing with the shitty insurance companies. From one SE Michigan guy to another, best of luck with everything. I would've loved to see that beast around town one day.

"I managed to make out what seemed to be a POS mercedes and some other glorified VW car in the inferno that day..."
What an ignorant D-bag. The POS Mercedes appears to be a 450SLC which is anything but a POS and if that "glorified VW" is an RS4 avant then it's one of maybe 2-3 in the states and worth more than any E30 could ever be. Dear god I hope it was just an S4."
POS is right....those things are turds. Donno why people like them so much. 560s are where it's at.

DJ Buttchug and R3V just got cited on Jalopnik.

When a tractor trailer blew up in his town, Dj Buttchug, of a href="http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=271400">r3vlimited forum fame, wrote it off as another meth lab explosion. But a month later he noticed there was something different about that particular supposed meth lab: Its flames had torched a heavily-modded BMW E30 widebody race car.

Matt, sorry to hear about your car. I'd be very interested in knowing who the shipping company is.
