Got my first speeding ticket (California)

64 mph in a 45 mph zone. I know, let the bashing begin.

But, anyone have any advice to get out of this? Is there a way? I know this has been discussed before, but I can't find any solid info.

Where were you when you got the ticket? In my town the main street (3 lanes going both ways) has speed limit of 45mph as well but the average speed on that street is more like 65-70 so if the situation was like that you were probably being completely reasonable in your rate of travel.

It is never reasonable to go 70 in a 45 through downtown.

oh no its not though downtown being completely honest its in the middle of no where it just comes from the freeway into town, i normally go about 55 I'm just saying that sometimes traffic moves a lot faster than it should and sometimes in order to reasonably keep up with traffic you need to go faster than the posted limit
