To a/c or not to a/c

Civic is done, ready to work on the bimmer. Pulling the motor soon as I have some free time.

it comes without a/c, no sunroof. I am thinking about putting a/c in. It gets hot here in the summer (~85) and I hate being all sweaty. I don't mind, but when you're with a girl or something, i much prefer a/c

so I'm thinking of adding it when I do my swap

    what do y'all thnk

I'm in Texas, and I plan on taking out my AC. But then again, I have a convertible.

Why the hell not? I don't think you will notice the weight difference. I am fixing mine before next summer.

thats exactly how if feel. If it was just me in my car i would have no A/C but knowing girls will be in the car i have A/C, they dont like the windows down because of the hair thing.

yea, the car is just a cool cruising car not anything crazy, and the stroker motor will make up for any loss of power

I have a sunroof in my iS, but beleive it or not, those AC components are fairly heavy. The compressor felt around 45lbs when I took it out, not even counting all the other compnents.

It is heavy, close to 60lbs for everything. But do you honestly notice that weight missing when you drive the car?

that's what I'm saying, i'll be hopefully pushing around 210whp, i don't mind a few extra pounds. it's already fat as hell, it's a touring. not gonna win any drag races.

                might as well be comfortable

I agree, but these are the kind of guys that remove their shift boots for weight reduction...

I know there are a few aftermarket compressors out there.

                    any of them lighter weight?

I may put mine back in. I left mine out but I barely drive except on nice days and shit. Maybe if I put a quieter exhaust on and A/C in I will start using this car for dates. Usually I just drive the M3.
                        Im now E30less.
