May not be able to complete my turbo build, need opinions

    Hello,

Well guys, I really hate to post this thread but I need a r3v opinion. Currently, I have not been getting the hours I need to complete my turbo 2.7t project. As everyone states, double your budget, and I saved for the past year to get this project done. Things in life are popping up, and although I would rather not sell I have been considering this. My current daily, inspected to feb 13, most likely will not pass inspection, and through paying rent and bills I might be beat to finish this project.

    The rundown:

87' lapisblau sedan, little rust, body isnt the straightest, interior is decent.
I have everything for the eta bottom, 885 head, full gaskets throughout the engine. Arp studs, h1c, manifold adapter, tial wg/bov, g260 trans. Engine is out of the car already.

My plans were to run the block to the machine shop to get oringed, and pistons pressed onto rods, new bearings/rings, then to get MSPNP and my remainer of parts (basically the easy intercooler/piping, ms sensors, clutch).

I am wondering if selling the project like this would have any market, or even what it was worth. I would really hate to see it go since ive been hunting for these parts for a few months and saved for a good while, but figured id just see what you guys think.

I also would consider trading for a basic daily, nothing too crazy (e34/e36 5speed) if that seems like a viable option. I am also planning on moving within a few years and need to save up for that, the original plan was to have my 2.7t done so I could sell off my current daily but as you all know things happen out of the blue.

If you've been buying parts over a long period of time I assume you got a good deal on them so you shouldn't be too hard pressed to sell them again. Then just get the car back together as a DD and wait for a more opportune time.

keep saving up and change your timetable, or sell off your stuff and build a DD instead of a turbo monster. Waiting an extra few months/years for the build you want is worth it in the long run.
