Speeding ticket: Cops allowed to park on shoulder facing opposite direction on hwy?

The discussion is about the speed limits and safety of being parked the wrong direction. No one is saying the speeding citation is not fare. The fact that the LEO was fishing for more is outside the bounds of the takedown.


20 over on an empty country road only puts two people in any danger in the event there would ever be a problem. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Yes, I was just reading through the rest of the whole thread and it's this last page where it all went to shit. It's too bad, there was some good input in the first 3 pages.

Looks like it all started with the below quote from me:

We drive e30s here and most of us are adult enough to drive sensible. Save it for the track if you want to do better than 10 over. I know I will get a raging PMS reply but whatever. You were speeding, Cops can sit where they want anytime. Even in the middle of the road to slow traffic down for a crash ahead. They are the law.

Police sit in weird places and give us dumb tickets(not your case, I know you know that). There is nothing we can do or say that will change it. I have gotten some DUMB tickets for no reason. Tint, my plate fell off in the parking lot. My only speeding ticket was when I was 17, I was doing better than 120 in a 55. The super nice Policeman gave me an 85 in a 55, still cost me 600.00 and 6 points on my licence.

I look at is like a lesson for life. That was my last and only speeding ticket so far. I rarely bust 80 let alone 100(given that one day I finished my build and drove it the first time).

That is my mature response.
