Wow, interesting...I'm assuming you were brought into the field by someone? But hey! That's awesome though, wish someone would take me into a field that pays well! haha

Oil cooler on my current DD was bent before I bought it, but not leaking so I left it alone. One of the hoses started leaking over the past few months though, so I did an oil cooler delete. $4 my cost for the fitting in the block, and for the type of driving I do with this car the cooler won't be missed.

Only drawback is now at oil change time when I remove the filter, oil dribbles down the side of the block and I have to brake kleen it off afterwards. No more drips on the garage floor though, so I can live with that extra step.

No sir, that is a perfect late model lip off my brothers old vert. Bolted up using stock retaining clips and screws.

I know the paint is ugly, but I did not half ass anything on it. I take great joy is building her, I am a perfectionist and cannot see the logic in new paint over performance parts.

When I got my car it came with a snapped timing belt, and I had a running m20 to drop in when she was delivered to me.

A/C, Power steering, engine driven fan, all came out and did not go back in.

My cut-corner move: was going to buy a super low-mileage, pristine condition one-owner Mtech convertible, but it was a 30 minute drive away from my house. Instead I bought a salvage title 15 owner bailing wire assembled model instead.

I once had to drive cross country in my E30 asap, and as I was putting it back together I realized that I only had two flywheel bolts (previously used) at my disposal. I couldnt even find the torque spec so I just got em gutentight and said fuck it. Drove the whole multi-thousand mile trip without issue.

It didnt give me any problems, so I still have it like that, to this day. I have had the time to fix it but I figured the fewer bolts lent some weight savings to the flywheel setup.

The above post is a total joke.

My biggest hackjob is the use of zip ties to hold arbitrary items together.

Though all of that is getting fixed this winter while it is all apart.

The only thing I have ever hackjobbed on my E30 is my tires. Sometimes I just rock shitty ones. Like I am now.

This MIGHT count. I'm not doing anything about the body rust. Ultra rare parts abound in that car. Body rusting away.

Same. Topside oil changes for life unless I go boost. Or decide that I should do it while I live on campus and have the time once it gets warm :lol

One time, I didn't replace the crush washer on my oil drain plug.

ha, I think that is a forfeit.

The big corner I cut was when wanting more power, I swapped rather than rebuild the s14 to 2.5l.

Also ziptieing steering rack boots for my failing steer rack seemed like a good idea at the time
