Yep - there is a tradition of US media companies not wanting to offend sponsors of the show. It's funny if you read C&D or R&T how they gently try to tip you off to the cars flaws in ways that don't sound awful.

Adam Carolla is going to be the host, in case you guys didnt know he has an E30 M3 and a Datsun 510. They're also considering Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno. I don't think the show is going to be that great because they're probably not going to say one bad thing about the cars. And you just cant replace the original lineup in the UK, they're hilarious.

Love Adam C - been listening to him back in the lovelines days.

He tells a great story of him illegally parked in Hollywood - a tow truck swoops in lifts his front wheels. He tell the driver to go to hell and back off his m3 (e36 I believe at the time) OFF the tow trucks "hooks" up in the air - good times.

Of course it won't be as good as the Euro version, but I really can't believe you guys are bashing it. When is more automotive TV programming EVER a bad thing? It's not like the American top gear will have any effect what-so-ever on the popularity of the UK show which we all get off the internet anyway.
