Buying any e30 is a bad decision, speaking from a purely logical standpoint. We have them because it's fun. Of course it didn't make sense to buy a car that far away without seeing it in person first or having an alternate way home, but if he only did what made sense he'd have brought a new KIA with a 12yr warranty.

Sounds like it was quite the adventure, and there is nothing wrong with asking for a little help from fellow enthusiasts. Anyway, man, pm me for my contact info now that you're back and I'll be able to keep you in touch with other local e30 guys.
