Ignigion key swap question

I was curious if its possable to swap out the ignition key for my E30 to one like the E36 or the E46? It was just a fleeting thought and i figured id ask

Gawd, if I could saw down the E36 and the E46 keys, I wouldn't have a third nut banging around
in my left pocket on the keyring. That would be ok.

i have lost the key to my ignition and need help to remove it so that I can put my new one in. someone please help
