Can't help it but sorry best car with one of the best chassis ever made (e30 m3) sadly I don't have one yet but my restored 89 e30 still out classes all forget e90's and if your abit like me and think BMW could keep making the e30s like the 911s then 2day we would have one the best car made in this year but BMW ain't all that cleaver are they, getting sloppy in there old age now :( but I would say a e30 with a manual 6speed s52 complete running gear, steering rack, hubs, breaks and all new suspension, shocks and bushes.. Well now that's a car which I think out shines any car under £10,000 that make you feel like a 10year old boy from inside every time either your driving it or just looking at it after parking it ;) n your only disagreeing as you have not had the pleasure of have a good e30 in your life...

You can't deny the logic:) haha.
No offense to any e90 owners;)

Bumping this since I own both
The E30 has soul in spades
The E90 has better feeling brakes and steering Im still running the stock rack in the e30 for now
I prefer the shifter and clutch in the e30 or maybe I'm just more used to it
But I will take the e30 hands down in a corner its lightness and nimbleness and near perfect balance is sublime
As much as we bag on the M20 it feels like the right engine for the car I love the way the power builds above 3500 and it makes a beautiful noise.
The N54 is a sledge hammer 0-100 happens in no time but it is too quiet
Compared to the e30 the e90 feels lacking in the soul department but compared to other modern cars I think it does decent1989 BMW 325is Lachsilber metallic 5 speed

I was gonna say.. old thread bump?
I have both too, the E90 handles well and is really comfy to cruise in, but the weight.. oh, the weight! you can really feel the heft through the corners. maybe the suspension is 25 years more advanced, but my E90 with the sport package could never hang with my E30. Actually it makes me want to drive the E90 like a grandpa, it's just so heavy I'm not that comfortable pushing it much through the corners. that and having no LSD sucks.
there are things that are disappointingly cheap on the E90. Anyone ever hear of the shift lever flaking apart at 80k miles in an E30? the paint on the plastic steering wheel cover wearing through? that really, really lame plastic cover on the engine, complete with fake molded allen bolts? it looks like it was made by the same people who manufacture plastic hub caps that you can buy for $15 at walmart. I'm sure it was. WTF BMW?
There are things that are really nice on E90s as well but it's not an E30.
